Respectful Behaviour Policy
We are committed to providing a professional, welcoming and safe environment for our colleagues, clients, suppliers, and everyone we work with.
We believe that everyone should be treated with dignity, courtesy and respect, whether they are visiting our offices, attending a property viewing or appointment, meeting with us at another location or an event, speaking with us by telephone or communicating with us online or via email.
In return for the professional and respectful service we provide, we ask that our team is treated with the same consideration.
We have zero tolerance for harassment, sexual harassment, discriminatory behaviour, intimidation, threats, abuse or other inappropriate behaviour towards our colleagues. This applies whether the behaviour takes place in our offices, at a client’s home or business premises, during a property viewing or valuation, at an event, or through telephone, email, messaging or other communications.
Our colleagues are not expected to tolerate inappropriate behaviour in order to provide a service or maintain a business relationship. If a member of our team feels unsafe or is subjected to unacceptable behaviour, they are entitled to end a telephone call, meeting, viewing, home visit or any other interaction.
Where inappropriate behaviour occurs, we will take it seriously and may take reasonable steps to protect our colleagues. Depending on the circumstances, this may include changing how future contact takes place, requiring appointments to be attended by more than one member of staff, restricting contact or, in serious or repeated cases and where appropriate, ending the professional or business relationship.
Where behaviour may constitute a criminal offence, involves threats or violence, or gives rise to concerns for the safety of our colleagues or others, we will not hesitate to involve or report the matter to the police where we consider it appropriate to do so.
We recognise that difficult, sensitive and stressful circumstances can sometimes arise during legal matters and property transactions. We will always seek to deal with concerns professionally and with understanding. However, difficult circumstances do not justify harassment, discrimination, threats, abuse or sexually inappropriate behaviour.
Respect works both ways. Our commitment is to treat everyone fairly, professionally and with dignity, and we ask everyone who interacts with our team to do the same.
