Neilsons Solicitors and Estate Agents are delighted to launch two new partnerships that reflect both our work within the Edinburgh property market and our connection to the wider community.

From this month, we are becoming the first official property partner of The Edinburgh Reporter, alongside beginning a new charity partnership with Edinburgh-based homelessness charity, Four Square.
Both initiatives mark an important step for the firm, bringing together our experience in buying and selling property in Edinburgh and the Lothians with an ongoing commitment to supporting the city we have worked in for nearly 50 years.
Our new partnership with The Edinburgh Reporter will see Neilsons take over Page 14 each month as a dedicated property feature. The aim is simply to offer helpful, accessible insight into the Edinburgh and Lothians property market for readers, whether they are thinking about moving home or are just interested in what is happening with property locally.
Each edition will include a featured “Property of the Month”, highlighting homes from across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas, along with practical guidance for buyers and sellers. The intention is to share clear, straightforward advice drawn from our day-to-day experience as Solicitor Estate Agents who sell over 1 in 10 properties locally.
The first property featured is a particularly interesting home in Corstorphine, which has remained in the same family for more than two and a half centuries. It serves as a reminder of the variety and history that make Edinburgh’s property market so special and unique. Although if you’re keen to buy it, you’ll have to move quicky – there’s already a Closing Date set!
As a firm, we continue to support a significant number of clients across the city each year, with our teams working across six offices to provide a joined-up service covering both estate agency and legal work. That integrated approach is something many of our clients value, particularly when navigating what can often feel like a complex process.
Alongside this new media partnership, we are also beginning a collaboration with Four Square, a charity that works to support people experiencing homelessness in Edinburgh.
This partnership comes at a time when the need for practical support across the city is increasing. As highlighted by Four Square, homelessness has risen significantly in recent years, placing additional pressure on local services. It felt important for us to find a way to contribute in a meaningful and practical way.
Over the coming year, the partnership will focus on simple, tangible actions. Clients moving home will be encouraged to donate unwanted furniture and household items, helping to support Four Square’s Edinburgh Furniture Initiative, the largest social enterprise in Scotland. There will also be a number of opportunities for both staff and clients to get involved in fundraising and community events.
For us, the link between property and housing security is clear. While we spend much of our time helping people move into new homes, we are aware that not everyone’s path to stable housing is as straightforward, and we’re proud to support Four Square who’s work really does make a difference. Keep an eye on our social media for further announcements and ways to get involved!
Taken together, these two partnerships represent different sides of the same idea. On one hand, sharing knowledge and insight into the Edinburgh property market through The Edinburgh Reporter. On the other, supporting a local charity organisation working to ensure more people have access to a safe place to live.
