Receptionist/Legal Administrator

Following continued expansion, Neilsons Solicitors and Estate Agents are looking to recruit a front of house Receptionist/Legal Administrator to join our residential conveyancing team at our City Centre office at 2a Picardy Place, Edinburgh, EH1 3JT.

The full-time role is an excellent opportunity to join one of Edinburgh’s top firms. Neilsons are the Residential Property Team of the Year 2020 and 2021, and High Street Firm of the Year 2021.

Ideally, we are looking for individuals with at least 1 years’ experience of working in a Solicitor Estate Agency.

Main duties and responsibilities involve:-

  • Assist solicitors with ID checks and law society compliance, as well as Anti-Money Laundering checks
  • Answer incoming telephone calls as the first point of contact for client enquiries.
  • Assist with off-street enquiries.
  • Assist with incoming email enquiries and mail.
  • Maintain property displays and update them when properties sell/new properties come on the market
  • Assist solicitors with general correspondence and documents as required using dictation transcription equipment
  • File management, including storage and archiving
  • Office administration including petty cash, stationery, key logging, supplies
  • Filing, scanning and photocopying
  • Any other ad hoc requirements as advised by the team

Essential Skills and Attributes:-

  • Highly organised and client driven with good attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work to critical deadlines and effectively time manage workload
  • IT and confident typing skills
  • Interest in conveyancing and the property market
  • Team player willing to go the extra mile

Salary: Around £25,000 – commensurate with experience.

Residential Conveyancing Paralegal

We are looking for a qualified Residential Conveyancing Paralegal to join our expanding team at our Head Office at 138 St John’s Road, Edinburgh, EH12 8AY.

The role will involve:

  • Managing your own high volume caseload
  • Dealing with sale and purchase transactions, transfers of title, new build purchases and all other residential conveyancing legal work as required
  • Winning new instructions and liaising with prospective and existing clients.
  • Providing an exceptional client service

Essential skills and attributes:

  • Highly organised and process driven with good attention to detail.
  • Sound knowledge of residential conveyancing practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of business.
  • Proven ability to work to critical deadlines and effectively time manage workload.
  • IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office Suite (full training will be given on our bespoke Office systems).

The role is an excellent opportunity to join one of Edinburgh’s top firms. Ideally we are looking for individuals with at least 1 years’ experience of working in a residential conveyancing office or similar legal background. However we would also consider new graduates with legal qualifications looking to gain such experience.

Main duties and responsibilities involve:-

  • Instructing legal searches
  • Assisting solicitors with general correspondence and documents.
  • Assisting solicitors with deeds registration and LBTT submissions
  • File management, including storage and archiving
  • Telephone duties
  • Assisting solicitors with ID checks and law society compliance
  • Filing, scanning and photocopying

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of business
